On-form striker Fiston Mayele and defender Yannick Bangala scored the goals in either half of the game.

The NBC Premier League finally ended on Friday as back-to-back league champions Young Africans signed off with a 2-0 win over Tanzania Prisons in Mbeya.

On-form striker Fiston Mayele and defender Yannick Bangala scored the goals in either half of the game.

Mayele opened the scoring in the 34th minute, slotting home Salum Aboubaker’s through pass before Yannick Latombo Bangala sealed the deal in the 90th minute.

The win took Nabi Nasreddine’s side to 78 points, finishing five points ahead of rivals Simba SC who also signed off with a 3-1 win over Coastal Union at the Uhuru stadium in Dar-es-Salaam.

Mayele’s goal took him to 17 goals, sharing the golden boot with Simba’s Saido Ntibazonkiza, who scored a brace on the day to equal the predator's tally.

Mayele would later on chest thump at full time stating that he is the number one striker having scored 17 goals which didn't include a freekick and a penalty.

"I am the number one striker, all my goals don't have a freekick or a penalty," he bragged on Yanga TV.

In a related development, Young Africans have confirmed an exciting league champions trophy parade scheduled to start from the Julius Nyerere Airport until the club’s headquarters in Jangweni.
