“I am delighted to join St Mirren Football Club. I have been here for a few weeks training, getting to understand the philosophy and the club as well," Bwomono was quoted by the club website.

"It’s been fantastic," he revealed before adding: "Everything has been great both on and off the pitch. The boys have been very good with me, it’s a very good group."

Bwomono signed from Iceland outfit IBV Vestammaenyjar, where he has spent the last two seasons. His move to St Mirren represents a massive leap in his career.

The 25-year-old further revealed how Anton Ferdinand's (former Mirren player and brother to Rio Ferdinand) affiliations to the club helped him know about it.

"Training has been really good and the boys have helped me settle in. I knew about the club from the likes of Anton Ferdinand and Joe Shaughnessy playing here"

"I know Richard [Taylor] as well, and when I knew I was coming up here, I spoke to him, and he told me lots about the club. I can’t wait to get started.” Bwomono added.

It has been disclosed that Bwomono will not feature for the club until the opening of the January transfer window when he will get the work permit and international clearance.

Besides Vastmannaeyjar, he has also previously played for Southend in the English League One, where he played 116 league games across four seasons.
