It's alleged that the two attacked the car which had Sekayuba and other match officials about two weeks back and beat him up, leaving him for dead.

Two key suspects in an incident that involved the beating of assistant referee Fahad Sekayuba will appear in court later on Tuesday for a hearing.

Noah Mukenya and Sulaiman Zimula will face the Matugga Magistrate's Court to hear the cases related to assault.

"Today (Tuesday 14th November 2023) the State will parade the two hooligans/ fans Mukenya Noah and Zimula Sulaiman at Matugga Magistrate’s Court who violently attacked & beat up referee Fahad Sekayuba," a FUFA statement reads.

It's alleged that the two attacked the car which had Sekayuba and other match officials about two weeks back and beat him up, leaving him for dead.

Sekayuba was fatally wounded on the head before he was taken to Mulago Referral Hospital.

The two were dissatisfied with his officiation following Express FC's 1-1 draw with UPDF FC at the Bombo Military Barracks.

The heinous incident prompted referees to abandon all Express matches for over a week, a ban they lifted days back.
