KCCA sit a lowly ninth on the log with 23 points in 17 games, while Kitara are second with 33. But, Mubiru feels the game is far from being termed 'big.'

Despite losing 3-1 against them in the first round of the Uganda Premier League,  KCCA FC head coach Abdallah Mubiru doesn't view the Kitara FC game as a big fixture.

The two will wrestle it out later in the day at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo under the floodlights.

KCCA sit a lowly ninth on the log with 23 points in 17 games, while Kitara are second with 33. But, Mubiru feels the game is far from being termed 'big.'

"I won't call it a big game, because big games come with some history," Mubiru downplayed ahead of the encounter.

"So, it's not that a big game, but it's a crucial game for both sides. We're prepared and set," the gaffer added.

"Of course,  we want to keep getting better and out-competing opponents. The boys are ready and set to give in whatever they can."

In their most recent league game, KCCA needed to come from behind to beat nemesis Express FC 4-3 at the Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.

"Players must have picked a number of lessons from that. The quality is there, but somehow we lose belief in ourselves," Mubiru observed.

"We want everyone to play the way we train, preach and achieve the results. We are trying to eliminate the mindset of losing, fearing to lose."

"At times they come on the pitch and someone is afraid to play with the ball, to ask for the ball. We want them to make mistakes, learn and we'll get better," he summed.

KCCA thrashed Kitara 4-0 in their last Lugogo encounter in 2021, courtesy of goals from Bright Anukani, Andrew Kigozi and a Peter Magambo brace.
