And, despite being home, Obua was left pleased with his team's display and how fast they're gelling with his tactics.

In his first match as URA FC head coach, David Obua witnessed his side draw 2-2 with current Uganda Premier League runners-up Kitara FC.

Najib Fesali and Ivan Ahimbisibwe netted for the Tax Collectors while Living Kabon and Brian Aheebwa helped Kitara grind a point on enemy territory at the Mehta Stadium, Lugazi on Friday.

And, despite being home, Obua was left pleased with his team's display and how fast they're gelling with his tactics.

"I told the players that the most important part is how they respond individually; the effort that they put in is how I define success," Obua told the press following the stalemate.

"I don't define success by draws or wins, but today I define success by the effort that the team put in and doing it with very good football."

"I know Lugazi will turn into our hub, and it will be buzzing in the next weeks because these boys are committed. Management has done everything, and I'm telling you, if they're (teams) to come here, they will have to fight so hard."

Before the match, Obua had been with the team for only three days but is pleased with the instant response from the team.

"Confidence is what I've put in them (players), and I love them, and I've told them to enjoy what they do, and what you saw here is a collective effort."

"But we could have managed the game better in the last minutes, but it's okay. I told the boys we cannot control the result but can control ourselves, how to play and manage the game."

Following the draw, URA ascended to seventh with ten points in seven games and will visit Vipers SC in their next match on November 23.

Three days later, second-placed Kitara (16 points) will make the trip to Jinja for a massive tie with table leaders BUL FC.
