Manchester City manager Josep Guardiola has reached 200 Premier League victories during his tenure as Cityzens’ boss, marking a monumental milestone in his career.

Guardiola reaches new Manchester City milestone

The Spanish gaffer has also reached the milestone in only 269 matches, making him the fastest manager in the Premier League era to reach that milestone.

He has beaten the likes of Manchester United legend Sir Alex Ferguson, who achieved 200 wins after 322 games, and former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho, who reached the landmark after 326 league games.

Arsenal great Arsene Wenger is also in the top five fastest coaches to win 200 matches after achieving the feat in 332 matches.

Guardiola challenges Ferguson records

Guardiola, who was not on the sidelines for Manchester City’s most recent wins, over Newcastle and Sheffield United as he recovered from routine back surgery, will still be credited with those wins, which will take his victory count to exactly 200 matches in charge of the Cityzens.

The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager has set about obliterating records set by his predecessors and has claimed another record set by former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson after becoming the first manager since the Scotsman to win three Premier League titles in a row.

Guardiola also became the first manager since Ferguson to win the treble with an English club after winning the UEFA Champions League, Premier League, and FA Cup trophies with Manchester City in the 2022/23 season.
