Manchester United executives have been left fearing the worst over coach Ruben Amorim as the team’s poor run of form shows no sign of stopping.
Manchester United coach Ruben Amorim has left the club’s executives fearing the worst following his recent sentiments as the Red Devils’ poor season continues.
Amorim has won just six of his 27 Premier League games in charge to leave the team in 16th place and already their worst ever league placing with just 39 points from 37 games.
However, there is a possibility of qualifying for the Champions League if United win the Europa League final against Tottenham Hotspur in Bilbao on Wednesday which could provide some silver lining to a tough season.

That though could still not be enough for Amorim who has been dropping hints that he could walk way at the end of the season, leaving United bosses in panic mode.

Benni McCarthy: Harambee Stars Coach Reveals Why Jadon Sancho Refused to Apologize to Erik Ten Hag
Benni McCarthy spills the beans on the events that made Jadon Sancho and Erik Ten Hag not to see eye to eye at Old Trafford.
Amorim has kept blaming himself for United’s current mess and already said he hopes to see changes in the summer failure to which he will quit if results continue like that in the early weeks of 2025-26.
“It’s a decisive moment in the history of the club. We need to be really strong in the summer and to be brave because we will not have a next season like this,” Amorim said after his team’s loss to West Ham last Sunday.
Why Are United Bosses Panicking Over Ruben Amorim?

“If we start like this, if the feeling is still here, we should give the space to different people.”
There is a feeling among United’s executives, led by minority owner Jim Ratcliffe, CEO Omar Berrada and technical director Jason Wilcox, that Amorim could live up to his threats and walk away and according to The Sun, they want guarantees from the coach that he will be there for the long-haul.
That will inform how they go about in the transfer market instead of backing a coach who might quit soon after and leave them looking for another one and deeper in crisis.
United were in a similar position last season when Erik ten Hag presided over their worst Premier League finish at the time, following eighth place, but the FA Cup win bought him some time.
Ten Hag was widely expected to be sacked but he was handed a new two-year contract instead and backed in the transfer market only for him to be sacked over two months into the new season with the club then bringing in Amorim who plays a different style of football that the current squad has struggled to adapt to.
Buying new players for Amorim’s system and then seeing him walk away soon after would be a costly disaster that the United bosses are seeking to forestall by seeking assurances about the Portuguese’s future.
