The newly-appointed coach believes that AFC Leopards have made good strides to improve their indifferent predicament since returning to the Den.

AFC Leopards head coach Tomas Trucha believes that their fans deserved a better performance following their 0-0 draw with Kariobangi Sharks at the Ulinzi Sports Complex on Wednesday afternoon.

Both sides were unable to get the better of each other, struggling to create inroads in the others’ halves, and in the end, they had to settle for a barren stalemate, something Trucha admits was not the most entertaining result for the visiting supporters.

“Maybe it would have been better if the game had ended 3-3 so that the fans would enjoy more goals,” Trucha said.

“Interesting game for me. We tried to win and they tried to win. We tried to find a solution against them, they also were prepared well.”

Trucha has however chosen to take the point very preciously, asking his charges to “take the result humbly” considering the situation at hand.

“I believe that considering the other games, this point is important. Sharks are a good team. We are getting somewhere. We have to take this one point humbly.”

“I know the fans are demanding that AFC always has to win, but we are getting somewhere.”

AFC Leopards have now collected eight points from their opening nine league games of the season.

They climbed out of the relegation places, and now sit in 14th place, 11 points behind league leaders Posta Rangers albeit the fact Rangers have a game in hand against Homeboyz.

Leopards have found the net four times, but conceded a further seven times, meaning they have a negative three-goal difference.

They will be facing City Stars this Satuday, hoping they can keep the run going under the new coach’s stewadship.
