Sam Timbe, the former head coach of URA FC, had been diligently preparing his team for the FUFA Super 8 semifinal clash against KCCA FC scheduled for Sunday. However, the match was rightfully postponed in light of his untimely demise.

The Ugandan football community remains in mourning following the unexpected and saddening passing of seasoned coach Sam Timbe on Saturday, August 20th.

Sam Timbe, the former head coach of URA FC, had been diligently preparing his team for the FUFA Super 8 semifinal clash against KCCA FC scheduled for Sunday. However, the match was rightfully postponed in light of his untimely demise.

The match is now rescheduled for Friday at the MTN Omondi Stadium, and URA captain Hudu Mulikyi, has issued a heartfelt call to the club's supporters.

"Dear fans,” Mulikyi shared in a video posted on the club's official Twitter account before adding.

“I humbly request your presence and support as we face KCCA FC. Despite the challenges we've encountered.”

“Including the loss of Coach Sam Timbe, our determination remains unshaken. We believe it's all part of God's plan.”

"We hold the promise of victory; every player is in optimal condition. Please join us and revel in the game,” Muliki added.

The responsibility of guiding the team now rests upon the shoulders of assistant coach Fred Muhumuza, who aims to thwart KCCA FC's aspirations and secure a place in the final against BUL FC.

In recent encounters, URA FC has demonstrated their prowess against KCCA FC, securing six wins and two draws, whereas KCCA FC has clinched victory twice in as many matches.

FUFA confirmed that a moment of silence that will be observed before the commencement of the game, which kicks off at 5 pm, in honour of Sam Timbe's legacy.

The late coach also contributed his expertise to other renowned teams such as SC Villa, Police FC, Tusker FC, and Young Africans.
