Namwamba revealed that public resources have already been availed and it’s just a matter of time before they are renovated.

After the completion of the Moi Stadium in Embu, Sports CS Ababu Namwamba has promised that all the other stadia in the country that have stalled will be completed in due course.

Namwamba revealed that public resources have already been availed and it is just a matter of time before they are renovated.

He added that the likes of Kamariny Stadium in West Pokot and the Wote Stadium in Makueni County were started under a different regime and therefore the Kenya Kwanza Government should not be blamed.

“Those projects were started under a different administration and the speed and cost-effectiveness and quality and class of the Moi Stadium in Embu is what this government will deliver. All those other facilities that were started previously will be completed.

"There is a plan for that and we shall deliver. We have renovated the Embu Stadium in less than nine months since we entered office and I promise that great things are coming. I want to applaud the County Government of Embu for making it easy on our side,” CS Namwamba said.

The Embu Stadium was completed in 15 weeks and Namwamba expressed satisfaction towards the finished product.

“We are very happy with the manner in which this project has been handled,” he said.

The Ministry pumped in Ksh476 million to completely renovate the stadium which was in a dire state. The track has now been dug up, refilled and grass planted, and sprinklers that will ensure the grass remains green.

The stadium is now able to host 9500 people but Namwamba believes the stadium is capable of hosting more than 15,000 people if the space is utilised well.

The stadium also has five VIP lounges including a Presidential level lounge and a Vice-presidential level lounge.

“This is the first facility that has been delivered by the President and I want to promise people that all the stadia to be renovated will look like this or even much better,” he said.
